Dale Smith

Dale Smith, CEO of Smith Management Training and Consulting Services and adjunct faculty member for the UNC School of Government has a genuine love for people and a passion for helping them improve. Dale’s 30-year government career culminated in her role as the Director of Rocky Mount Parks and Recreation Department. She now provides coaching, training, consulting, and speaking services for individuals and teams seeking to improve communication skills, develop positive team dynamics and consistently meet mutual goals. Dale earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Resource Administration; a master’s Certificate in Teaching, Training and Education Technology; and a Business Coaching Certificate, all from North Carolina State University (NCSU). She also has a host of certifications including EQI 2.0 and 360 (Emotional Intelligence), MBTI (MeyersBriggs), and CSI (Change Style Indicator). In 2017 Dale acquired the level of Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation. She’s served as a Board of Regent Instructor for Supervisors’ Management School in coordination with NCSU. Dale is a former President of the North Carolina Recreation Parks Association and coordinates the Annual LeadHERship Workshop in partnership with Recreation Resources Service, a collaboration between NCSU and State Parks. She is called on regularly to speak at national, state and local conferences.
